SUGAR ARMY & HARLEQUIN LEAGUE
New Hunting Grounds national tour
March 2009

Perth indie rock protagonists Sugar Army and Harlequin League will storm Australia this March on a national co-headlining tour aptly called ‘New Hunting Grounds’ to launch their exciting new music.

Sugar Army’s weapon of choice is riff ready first single ‘Acute’ from their forthcoming debut album out midyear. The single will be exclusively released as a free download for fans who visit the Sugar Army barracks at sugararmy.com.au between Thursday 12 February and Sunday 22 February. While Harlequin League will launch their attack with new EP ’I Don’t Do Friends’. Due out March the band’s second EP features their sweltering new song ‘All Your Wars Are Won.’

The Good Cop Bad Cop label mates have set their sights on Melbourne, Ballarat, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Bunbury, and Joondalup; and will hit targets this March!

Multiple WAMi Award nominees Sugar Army spent much of 2008 honing their live show supporting artists like Interpol, Gyroscope, COG, Little Birdy, Eskimo Joe, and Children Collide; while their debut EP Where Do You Hide Your Toys did wonders with their hit single ‘...And Now You’re Old Enough, I Think That You Should Know.’

Harlequin League earned respect from the masses with their debut EP We Used To Be Gods, Now We're So Plain, featuring the track ‘Again and Again’, and ended last year as a triple j picked Next Crop artist and J Award nominee in the Unearthed category.

Do not miss your chance to see Sugar Army and Harlequin League - two of Perth’s finest young rock acts – together this March!

Hello whom chooses to have concern,

I trust you haven't forgotten about little ol' Sugar Army? I hope our little 6 track E.P. isn't getting too stale for you all. We are more than excited about entering the musical manhood that is releasing an album, but that said album is still being written.

Currently we have found some much desired time off touring for some song writing and at this point the writing process has heightened. I speak for all the boys when i say that we feel really good about the ideas surfacing and it is looking worlds apart from the maturity level of 'Where Do You Hide Your Toys.'

Next week, we get back into touring mode again (this time it's only for two weeks) and then we are going to finish writing the album. Once that is complete we plan on getting into the swing of all things bands do. We are thinking about artwork, photography, lyrics, meaty beats, organic riffs and sweet tunes.

So concerned readers, I wish you well, i know you young myspace right clickers are stressing about the current financial crisis, and wondering if Rudd is going to employ anymore cheap fiscal policy tactics that please old people and people with babies but yes, I know... I know it's all a big mess, you should know that i feel your pain.

Cheers
Ian.

Hello chaps and and chaplettes,

This weekend we (Team Sugar) are pushing ourselves to the limits. Our 6am flight to Brisbane on Thursday will ensure we join Gyroscope and The Young and Restless to play a sweet show in Brisbane at Bar 388 this Friday night. We have the pleasure of greeting the audience first, which will be at the all sober time of 8.45pm.

Shortly after, we will fly home via adelaide and hopefully gather some rest to further ensure le Rock rains down on amplifier on Saturday night in Perth. Witchhats will be there, with Bone, and Kill Teen Angst. It's a brutal line-up. It's a brutal weekend for Sugar Army.

Gyroscope's 'Breed Obsession' national album tour has been announced today, and we are excited to be going along in support, along with Young & Restless. Check Shows for all the details.

We head out on tour this afternoon for a run of EP launch shows and also support for Little Birdy in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide. Hope to see you around the traps. We'll be back home in a few weeks, and our next show in Perth will be on Saturday 5th April at the Hyde Park Hotel with good friends Capital City, Boys Boys Boys and Genghis. The last time we played there was on New Years and that was massive.
